Sizing
HB Archive has developed a unique sizing system to suit most. Choose and dress not only for shape and size, but also style.
Sizing has been created in two parts –
Choose either AA, A, B, C, or D for width and 1, 2 or 3 for length.
Options of U are available in both length and width if additional adjusting is needed. Additional costs may apply. Contact for more details.
Throughout the design process careful consideration has been made for garments to be as adjustable as possible. This includes ties, wide hems, cuff buttons, and loose draping for comfort and movement.

MEASURING GUIDE
-
BUST
Measure from the fullest part of your bust.
-
TRUE WAIST
Measurement from the smallest part of your waist.
-
LOWER WAIST
Measure 2cm or so below your belly button. The lower waist is where most HB Archive garments are designed to sit.
-
HIPS
Measure at the widest part of your
hips.
MEASURING A GARMENT YOU ALREADY OWN
Measuring a well fitting existing garment in your wardrobe can be helpful to compare back with HB Archive garments’ measurements.
To set up: Lay the existing garment onto a flat surface, front side facing up. Smooth fabric so side seams are sitting evenly. Use a tape measure with centimetre increments and double check that you are beginning from the side marked as 1cm. Measuring the same section up to three times is recommended for accuracy. Record in a notebook for future reference.
FINDING MEASUREMENTS FOR TOPS/DRESSES
-
LENGTH AT CENTRE FRONT
For a top or dress, measure the length of the garment vertically from the centre front of the neck, to centre front hem. Compare to Daise and Poet Shirt imagery for possible variances in how high or low front neck may sit. Using the same method, measure against yourself to imagine where the Daise and Poet Shirt will sit. -
-
TOP WIDTH
Measure the widest part of the top, from left under arm side seam horizontally to the right side seam. This horizontal axis will cross over with the bust. Double the measurement to make final circumference.
-
SLEEVE LENGTH
The Poet Shirt has a raglan sleeve, meaning there is no seam at the shoulder like many traditional shirts. With the existing top lying flat, begin measuring at the edge of the neck and continue following down to the sleeve hem.
FINDING MEASUREMENT FOR BOTTOMS
-
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE
Starting from the right front side seam, work horizontally along the front towards the left. The front waist may be more curved than the back. Once at the left side seam, make a note of the number.
Begin again at the original right side seam point, work along the back waist, Once at the left side seam note the finished measurement once more. Add front value and back value together to find the full circumference.
Use the same method to measure the hip at 12-14cm down from the waist.
-
LENGTH AT SIDE SEAM
Making sure existing bottoms are laying flat, measure vertically down the side seam. Start at the top of the waist and continue all the way to the lowest point of the hem.
