BTS of _In Residence -
Over 2025, I set myself the task of becoming my own “artist in residence”, where the act of play was prioritised in my practice, whenever the mood stuck. Permission to create - for no other reason resulted in writing, singing, dancing, working with fabric to make LIMIT garments, poetry, videos, photos, and outfits inspired by a kids dress up box. Learn more about it here.
Then in June 2026, to celebrate 10 years of building community, and nurturing the practice within and surrounding my project "HB Archive”, I welcomed 8 people each Thursday into my home / studio, to play, to meet, to listen, to feel. It was so enjoyable, I'd love to sporadically continue this offering.
You are welcome to -
Make: Hand sew a fabric scrap collage, draw and write with oil pastels, self guided practice with a project you are working on - bring your small loom, knitting etc.
Mend: Bring a clean woven garment from your wardrobe that needs mending. This could be a loose button, a small tear or hole that needs stitching up, even patching.
Dress Up: An opportunity to try on HB Archive garments.
Read: Look through some of my thoughtfully collected books :)
Supplies -
Sewing and drawing supplies will be provided. Any other special things you’d like to bring to use or share are welcome.

Ps. Thank you Sasha for most of the images. Taken at Post Sole Shop during our Mend Club last year, and film photos in my home/studio.
